some inspiration

One of my favorite designers around is Nancy Fishelson. Her style is so simple and natural....and that's something I'm looking forward to introducing more into our home.

As you can see in the photos it's also uncluttered.....and that's very me. I just love the bedroom above....simple, calming and not fussy.

I love her use of homespun linens....and lots of white, cream and wood.

That's a pretty dreamy kitchen wouldn't you say?

I also love that in these photos, there is hardly a thing hanging on the walls. It looks like that may be something we have in common as I too hardly ever have anything hanging on my walls. For some reason, whenever I try to hang something on the walls, I just get an overwhelming feeling of clutter. It's funny....whenever I see gallery walls or walls full of mirrors in photos I love them....but when I try it in my home, it drives me crazy....go figure.

Another thing that I love about her style, is that everything just flows together beautifully from one room to the other.

Now that I have some inspiration, I'll be picking out some sample pots of paint very soon.

All photos are from Sotheby's Realty.

  1. I love this decor style. I find myself leaning towards a simpler, minimalist style these days - less is more. The whites mixed with the natural wood tones is just lovely.
    Thanks for the inspiration,

  2. loooove this style!!!!!!! angie

  3. I love her style too, but I wish there was more of it! I have seen every one of her rooms over and over again, and it leaves me wanting more. I wonder what her latest project is.

  4. Bonjour,

Une maison où il doit faire bon vivre... le regard se repose. J'adore la cuisine ! Sa conception avec la lumière pénétrant tout autour de la pièce.

    Jolie publication...
    Gros bisous ♡

  5. I've never heard of Nancy....but wow.....I adore her style! That kitchen....oh that kitchen, Andrea!!! Wow. I had to laugh because you and I had share the same phobia about things hanging on the wall. I have a couple dream catchers and a sacred heart, but very little else. Farmhouses usually have small rooms that don't lend themselves to a lot of clutter. Thanks for sharing these beautifully inspiring pics today. I just loved them!

  6. I've met Nancy before and she is a sweet woman. She dresses just like she decorates!

  7. I love her style too. Everything so beautifully simple and uncluttered. Pure loveliness.
