the shop is now open

 Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday.

I've (finally) re-opened my etsy shop and wanted to give you a peek at what's new in there.
I'll be adding new items often as I've got loads of goodies to share.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday....I know I will....it's so pretty here today....I think there's a fire and a outdoor movie in my future.

My Show Space

In these photos the weather looks so pretty right?.....well, a few minutes later, Mother Nature decided to turn on the wind machine....as well as the time to freeze your buns off button....and it stayed windy and really cold the whole show. Even with the weather to contend with, the show was great.

Laurie and Jeff always put on a great show....and I always love visiting with the shoppers.

For this show, I painted the furniture all sorts of different ways. I made some homemade chalk paint...which I have to say turned out to work better than I thought. You see that large round dining table in the photo above (which had a formica top), I painted that with the homemade chalk paint and it turned out great...it looked even better after I used some dark wax on it to mute the gray color a bit. I also did some dry brushing and watered down paint too....and let me tell you, I love using dark wax to mute and age the freshly painted furniture. The wax just gives it this wonderfully aged look and gives the paint some dimension.....the other great bonus is that it seals the paint too...love that.

A Little Sewing

In between painting some furniture and recovering some chairs and ottomans....I've been sewing.

This is just a little of what I've sewn....the rest is packed and ready to go. This is just a couple quick photos I took in my basement while getting the rest packed up.

See those pouffes I made....Jill from the super cute blog Sew a Fine Seam wrote a great tutorial in the Autumn issue of Celebrating Everyday Life Magazine and you can find the pattern for these on her sidebar. They were so fun to make....I'm actually looking forward to making more soon.

This is just a peek at the goods I'll have tomorrow at the Shopkeeper & Friends Show. I've found some great stuff like huge berry crates with the wood berry baskets still inside, french bistro chairs, french enamel pitchers, some euro shams, french books and of course some furniture.

If your local and feel like bundling up...come on by and say Hi!

Inspiration Vintage Magazine {Fall Issue}

The fall issue of Inspiration Vintage Lifestyle Magazine is now available....and by the looks of the beautiful cover....it just screams cozy sweaters, cable knit blankets and hot chocolate {with lots of whipping cream of course}.

Melinda has a great line-up of contributors in this issue....and I for one can't wait to get my digital copy. You can read more about Melinda's magazine here
