a space for "hers"

If your looking for some inspiration on how to make a little spot just for you....Hers by Jacqueline deMontravel can help. The book encompasses many styles and lots of great tips on how to add a feminine touch to your home.

The book shows you how can take the smallest of corners and turn it into a space just for you....no room inside you say....how about a little corner in your garden.

In the words of Jacqueline DeMontravel....."every woman deserves one place that is unapologetically hers"....I couldn't agree more!

So now that the weekend is upon us.....are you going to try to carve a little space in your home that's all you.

  1. I am working on it.But much to do.Lots of transformation is going to be happening in my home the months to come.Lots of work. But I know it will be worth it.I will have to check out that book.

  2. That is such a great idea....I think my studio is that sort of space...it's where I walk in and find all the things that make me tick....and happily create......!!!! I think I'll celebrate that space by buying some fresh flowers this weekend.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Wow Just discovered your blog thanks to Artful Blogger~ love it all!!! Relates so much to me a fellow mama of boys in the middle of nowhere surrounded by goats & chickens - love it!!!

Keep up the good work!!! Jennifer Morris

  4. I've heard some great things about this book...the pictures are so pretty!!

  5. Thanks for the heads up! I've been wanting to purchase this, but didn't have a chance to preview it yet (usually do that before buying a book). But it looks great!!! :) I need all the inspiration I can get these days! :)

P.S. Thanks for your input on the "windows!" :)

  6. I couldn't agree more!
Am so excited about your family room....looking forward to it!
    Have a pretty weekend!

  7. I have never heard of this book but will have to find it. The idea is wonderful. I think about where my little corner would be and I guess right now it's just in my oversize chair in the living room. But you know what...it's not a pretty little carved out place that says "Amy". My mind is turning a little now and I am going to have to think about this one. I think I need a sweet, pretty, feminine, "me" place.

    Thanks for sharing

  8. Hi Andrea,
This book looks wonderful.I love the idea of space of one's own-I live alone, so it's all my space. But carving out a special place makes all the difference when you have a family!
Saw you in Artful Blogging and remembered you as my first commenter on my blog. You have been an inspiration to me!
    Have a great weekend.

  9. It's already kind of all mine - my husband has a tiny corner of the kitchen counter, and one side of the basement. Maybe I should get the book for him? ~ lol ~ The book looks lovely and I'm thinking it would be nice to have a little secret spot in the woods out back :>)

  10. It looks like a great book darling.........love from me...xxx...

  11. I think I would love this book, but the decorating problem that I have is coming up with a mix of his & hers. :)
Hope you have a great weekend,

  12. Oh yes!!!
    Andrea you are so right!
This morning, over coffee I was putting together ideas I have been dreaming about for our back yard.
I want it to have a special touch..a warmth,
a personal touch that is an invitation to sit
and just behold the beauty of nature around me.
I have some ideas that are so cute and hubby is willing to help, so its just a matter of time and weather co-operating. Hurry up spring! :)
This book looks great and I'm all for some girl-space and some femininity.
    Lovely post and inspiring.
    Have a great weekend Andrea!

    Deborah xoxo
