Want to see what I've been up to....besides waiting for my hubby to be finished preparing the stairs for painting....which should be done this weekend....which also means I'll be able to start painting them next week....
I've been making a mess in my basement....yep....
it's been about 2 years since I painted this space....and that's far too long if you ask me....so I'm painting and rearranging and looking for some new pieces to add to this blah space. I can't even tell you how bad I want to change the carpet....because until I can do that , I think this space will always look dingy and officey....hopefully later this year that can happen. But until then, I really need to try to make this space more me.
I see a shopping trip in my near future.
Oh boy, it looks like you've been busy. I know you've talked about that carpet before...I would just rip it out and be done with it. Maybe you could paint the concrete white or in a light colored checkerboard until you can get new flooring. Just a thought :)
ReplyDeletehow fun. i can't wait to see what the finished project will be!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know you don't want the carpet, but at least it is in good shape. Our basement has a tile floor...very outdated.
ReplyDeleteI really can't wait to see what you do with the space, you have such good taste!
XO,
Jane
Go for it darling...and show us when it is finnished......love from me...xxx..
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny with this basement! I think it's charming and you have so many great things down there. Just rip out that carpet in the meantime and put down some big rugs. I think it would make you feel better. :) But really, it is pretty down there.
I LOVE that green and white cabinet.....
did you say shopping??? :)
Yea! blogger finally let me comment here!
ReplyDeleteI'm green with envy over your sweet basement space, carpet and all! I dream of having a room to store all of my craft supplies...
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend and I can't wait to see your stairs.

At least your basement is finished. Our basement is unfinished and will remain that way due to cost of remodeling a basement. We just painted our floors and walls. At least that keeps it clean. But not much to look at or decorate.I your basement looks great already. You have some great pieces already. Is that a chandelier I spy?Wow I just have light bulb chains hanging in mine.If I was that lucky.I can look at yours and dream.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to see what you do with that space! I've just been slaving away in my basement, too, and finally have a space that is fun to work in! http://www.harbourbreeze.blogspot.com/2012/01/basement-craft-laundry-room-reveal.html

ReplyDeleteHI Andrea~~~ How lucky are you to have a basement to make your own. Forget about the carpet, I am sure you will transform the rest of it into something great and no one will ever notice the carpet. Cant wait to see how it turns out.
