I mean....I love painting furniture and watching it go from ho hum to wow in a couple hours....but painting moldings and doors....not so much. The boys rooms are the only two rooms that I had yet to paint the molding or doors....they're still wood....so in an effort to have the whole house more cohesive....I'm painting them now....well at least one of them.
So that's where I am....still painting....ugly baseboards and doors....
have I mentioned I don't like painting moldings and windows and doors....well I don't ;o)
And the photos above have nothing to do with this post....I just took them to share with you because I thought you'd rather see those than ugly primed doors....or my new white painted on highlights ;o)

I know how you feel...I'm in the same situation right now...and it's going to take a long while before we get our projects done! **sigh** But I can't wait to see what you have in store! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Jessie
I paint white highlights a lot too ;) I actually prefer doors and trim to furniture, but walls trump them all. I could paint walls every day. If you asked my sister, she would say that I do paint walls every day. She keeps telling everyone that the square footage of our home is shrinking from all the layers of paint hehe. But then, I paint her house too. And do her gardening.
ReplyDeleteIf painting involves anything needing to be "taped", I want no part of it.
ReplyDeleteLoving your home,

Painting always seems like a good idea to me until I am knee deep and wonder "what was I thinking?"...
ReplyDeleteOh how I do NOT like painting moulding and doors. But, if you look forward, just think how lovely everything will look ;-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you wholeheartedly! and thank you for the very pretty pictures, too :)
ReplyDeletegood luck with the rest of the painting...i know it can be such drudgery!
ReplyDeleteI have two walls done in my son's room, two more to go. Then of course there is touch up and the goodness of clean up. Hang tough!
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see how everything turns out Andrea! :) come enter my new giveaway!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see the results of all your work. I actually enjoy painting ~ it's the process of getting everything out of the way...I absolutely detest painting around a room full of items covered with drop cloths....much nicer to start with an empty room :-)
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes on your painting. I'm looking forward to seeing your son's room!
ReplyDeleteWhat joy...your home is going to be stunning...love to you my sweet friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteGood luck darling...go for it....love from me...xxx...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on moving over 1000 followers!!! I gave you a shout out on my 100th follower post this past weekend. Your doors will be so worth it. We installed new six-panel doors, but they were only primed and I had to paint both sides of every upstairs door, including hall and bedroom closets. It was tiring! andrea@townandprairie
ReplyDeleteShew! I can't get my house done! I have both bathroom left to paint and have floors laid! I finished all the baseboard yesterday to the sunroom! I can't find the time to devote to the house! I have to stop what I'm doing and go do a show, open a store, and blah, blah, blah! Hahahahaha! I still don't have anything back on the walls in any of the rooms. Someday!
ReplyDeleteHope your painting is done soon!

Right there with you sister, I can paint walls all day long, bug baseboards, is another story...I always get paint on the wood floors, and make a mess...can't wait to see the finished product! take a break and stretch!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya, Andrea! Trim and molding is no fun at all! Especially the prep work. Ugh! But...keep the big picture in mind. It'll all look fabulous in the end! I've been painting furniture like there's no tomorrow... :)

Oh, I agree! But it looks so much better and is worth it. My old, dusty farmhouse seems to need to have them repainted on a regular basis too, uck.
