a little pretty....

Finally.....a little pretty for our dirt road.

Can I just say.....a nice shade of pink spray paint is not easy to find.....and with home improvement stores....a 60-mile round trip.....and having to go back 3 times to find the right shade of pink....well....let's just say this easy and cheap makeover has cost about $16.00 in ugly paint colors.....and $45.60 in gas.

So.....about 180 miles later.....I finally have a soft pink mailbox.....and it just well may be the most expensive mailbox in town.

  8. Hi Andrea! Love your new pink "Postal Depository"

I was so saddened to hear about Ollie! I lost my beloved Victor the finch to a marauding blue bird who managed to pluck him out of his cage and flew away with him to have lunch. Victor was the lunch. But Vivian the other finch is alive and sings like a canary....so maybe Vic was a big pain in the ass.

Things look lovely at the farm, as always!

If I was driving down that road and saw that sweet mailbox I must say I would smile from ear to ear.... and I would really want to meet the girl that painted that sweet box...

  17. Love your pretty soft pink mailbox. That's one of my favorite colors. What a cute story. Funny, you have a post on rural mailboxes. Today was the first time I walked out to my new (new to me) rural mailbox to post a letter to my Mom in Kansas. I peeked in twice, admired the vine growing up and put up the red flag!

  19. Andrea,

I had this exact color mailbox at my last home! :)
Know that you are not alone. EVERYTIME we work on something around here it includes a few trips back and forth to the stores miles away.

    Your Friend,

  21. Dear Andrea,
Sometimes the reward is just worth all the trouble! I'll bet the mailman gets a chuckle every day. I always try to happy-up the place with color. It's amazing how color can affect your mood. I'm looking for the perfect shade of green for my front and side doors. I will probably waste a bit getting there too!
    Enjoy!!!
    Hugs,
    Sherry

  32. I have never seen a pink mailbox and I love it! Which is strange, because I'm not a huge pink fan. It is different and I like different. Great idea.
