What's Inspiring Me Today

These are some of the images that are inspiring my newest makeovers....

a mix of grainsack and florals....

painted white furniture...

beautiful crystal chandeliers....

and lots of white...with pops of subtle color.

I'm trying to incorporate a little bit of all these rooms into my home.....

and the great thing has been that I've hardly had to buy anything.....

I was amazed to see that once I started freshening up my home....I had almost everything I needed already...love that!

My bedroom for example.....the only thing I had to purchase for that makeover was a pint of paint for $6.75 and a chandelier for $150.00....that't it. I didn't have to repaint walls, buy any new bedding....or furniture (just gave some pieces a facelift)....I just used things I had around the house. Looking at my inspiration photos helped me to gather the items I needed. I had many similar, if not the same things as my inspiration rooms....it's just that I had them scattered around the house....these photos helped me to focus on the "look" I was after....

and so far....I'm liking the results.

So....what's inspiring you lately?

  8. What is inspring me? Pretty much the same. lol. Last summer I started on the whole 'white' thing. I had some left over paint, then went and bought some Kilz spray paint...amazing stuff! I redid our entertainment unit, 2 end tables, couch, curtain rods, and changing table. Now, I am getting ready to start on my boys' room. Going to paint my almost 4 year olds bed and dresser white to match his 4 month old brothers changing table, dresser, and crib. I already love what I have been working on in there. I will post pics when it is completed. ;)

  15. I love the mixture of grain sacks and florals! That floral fabric is beautiful in your first photo. I seem to be drawn to pinks lately with the whites. Maria's bedroom is gorgeous as is her whole house. She has a great sense of style. I hope you show us your bedroom once you're finished!

  16. Lovely pics!! I am taking alot of art classes lately to stay busy. It's great to take something as simple as paper, glitter and lace and really make something eye catching. Every where in my house is eye candy and I made most of it:)

  17. Like you, I LOVE to shop the house! I don't have that much room, so it's vital that when bringing new things in, something else goes out. So upcycling what I already have is good!

  22. You know lately the grain sack linens have been drawing me like a magnet. Usually I am more prone to luxurious Bohemian fabrics in bold colors... but there is something quite soothing and charming about grainsacks and the simplicity of the designs upon them that endears me to them too. Loving the inspirational photos you have shared.

  30. I'm so looking forward to seeing your bedroom update. It is so beautiful already! I am inspired by distressed paint - dropcloths - dishes. Actually your center island is one of a few that inspired me to find a new island for our house. We are supposed to pick it up tomorrow! I'm so excited! I popped in the shop last week and saw it finished and it looked so-ooo good! I know more kitchen changes will have to be made but I'm looking forward to seeing where this new piece takes me!
