A visit to the Brownville Flea Market....

A fabulous BBQ with my family....

Some gardening....

yep....I'm gonna be giving my old bike a makeover....while the burgers are on the grill....and I'll make sure to take a before and after to show you her ambush makeover....yep....you heard right....she doesn't know she's gettin' made over....it's a little surprise for her....she's needed one for some time now....and there's nothin' like getting a new "do" for summertime....I know it'll knock 20 years off her appearance....hope all goes okay....I'm no color specialist.

I'm Feelin'......

A bit like my Molly here today....just a lazy kinda day....

although I did rumble up enough energy to sew a couple pillows {the bee one} for my spot at the antique mall....

and the rest of the day has been spent out here....with these girls {these are our first set of chickens, now 14 weeks old}.....

yep....it's that kinda day....just sittin' on the porch with my lemonade and new magazines.....ahhh!

Warning....Feathered Friends Update

I thought I'd throw that warning in the title....just in case your sick of hearing updates on anything with feathers....that way you can skip this post if you'd like....but like I said before....just showin' you the day to day goings on.

Okay....so if your sticking around to see some cute feathery babies here they are.....above are our 4 week old Frizzle Chickens....don't ya love all the ruffles on them. Out of the 4 chicks we brought home....3 turned out to be Frizzles....and all are feather footed....so cute!

And here are Annabelle and Genevive {at least that's their names for now until we know what sex they are}.....they are so adorable....

they follow us everywhere....like little shadows....even down the dirt road to the neighbors....we can't seem to shak'em {that's my son going to get the mail with his buddies}....not that we'd want to...we find it so amusing that they want to be with us so much....cuz we think we're kinda boring....but Annabelle and Genevive seem to think we're the bees knees {love that saying}.

Porch Love

I love the simplicity of this porch....

and the french bistro chairs and bunting of this porch....

and the mix of chairs of this porch....

which leads me to my porch....

this is my porch....blahhh.

My porch needs help....since living here....I've never done anything with this porch....other than to paint the floor....which as you can see needs an update....and I've decided that this is the year that it's gettin' a makeover. You see....I'm one of those girls who...if a space is ugly...I don't use it....and as you can see I have a large wrap around porch...that's totally being wasted...so this is the year. We've actually been doing lots of work to our outside space...like leveling the land a bit to give us more flat land {I live on a hill}...installing a beautiful granite boulder wall....planting trees....adding much needed character to our garage/out building....and this past week....we finished the last of our large outdoor projects....a crushed asphalt driveway. Now it's on to planting grass seeds...and starting to landscape...my favorite part.


Now....back to my porch....that for some reason....I'm unable to figure out. I love the first photo at the top...white painted floors....white table....mis-matched wood chairs...I just love it....and think that may be the way I go. I've always had trouble decorating this porch...mainly because it's kinda large and a bit intimidating to me....I've just left it pretty much empty...such a waste I know. I've always wanted a large wrap around porch....and now that I have one....I don't know what to do with it....


any suggestions?
