Freshening Up The New Year

With the New Year upon us....I started looking around my home....and thinkin'....she needs a little freshening up....

like a new farmhouse metal headboard {so happy to finally have one}....

a little tweaking with the bed linens and sidetables....

I made this wreath for Christmas using some old baling wire and some boxwood garland I had on hand....

I loved it so much....I just may keep it up all year.

I fluffed my eiderdowns....I love me some beautiful eiderdowns.

I changed up my dresser....just shoppin' around the house.....

I love this huge spool of rope....it's the perfect color and adds so much texture....plus.....it's a great way to hold some old photos of my dad.

Yep....I've been freshening up this old farmhouse.....and drawing up plans for some outdoor makeovers....is it wrong to already be wishing for spring and summer ;o)

  1. It looks great! I wish I could "freshen up" my home. But, mine is empty! I seemed to have taken everything out and put it in my antique booth!

  2. I'm obviously in the same mood as you. Only thing is you are a doer and I am a thinker (procrastinator) as I've managed to change my bedding but keep wandering from room to room wondering where on earth to start!
I need a bit more energy and a lot more inspiration!
Your bedroom looks beautiful. Love the idea to use the string ball to hold a few photos.

  12. It's so not wrong to be wishing for spring already. I love winter, but the minute Christmas is over, I've moved on to spring!

You fresh new look is lovely. Sometimes I'm amazed at how much I can transform a space in my house, simply with things I already have. It's wonderful!

  14. Well, girl - my house is still in full Christmas mode - the living room is still littered with strewen gifts & all decorations.....

I am *almost* at that point of sprucing up this nest and shopping 'round the house for new treasures to display - but right now, I'm not willing to let Christmas go......................

    soon, though! ;)

Love the changes you made - your nest is Oh-so cozy.

  17. Ok, Andrea....your "freshening up" is worthy of being featured in a mag for sure. It's just beautiful! You have a such a talent for style and design, girlie. :) Is that an alabaster lamp with the hat on it? I have one I've been searching high and low for the right sized shade for -- and now I know what else I could use on it! I'm almost ready to take down the Christmas decor and do some "freshening up" around here. I'll be dragging various items up from my "store" in the basement! lol! Have a Happy New Year, friend!
