So here's one of the projects I've been working on lately....cuz I have about 100 of them....
my bike makeover....you can see my inspiration bike here....Now....for some reason....the bike doesn't seem as cute in photos as it does in person....but in person....I think she turned out pretty cute....don't blame her for not looking her best....it's just that a complete novice photographer (that would be me) is taking her picture.
So here's her before photo....the brown did nothing for her....it just made her look dull and drab....
but a quick run through a spray can and she looks 10 years younger...don't ya think? (oh...please don't mind the ugly brass light by the door....right after this photo was taken....hubby changed it to our new black carriage lights....looks so much better now.)
Hubby says it looks like the Wicked Witch of the West's bike....kinda does...doesn't it....now I just need a little Toto to fill the basket....hmmm....do you think a little chicken would do?
She is pretty darn cute, if you ask me! Now...does she get a name, too?? And I think a chicken named Toto in the basket is sooo fitting. In writing that all sounds a little weird, but in our world it all makes sense. Right? Please tell me it does.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job! Love it.

Pretty cute! I've been looking for a bike for the shop. Haven't found just the right one yet. Love the basket of flowers too!
ReplyDeleteLaurie
love it!!!! Or course I dare you to put a chicken in it and take a picture
ReplyDeleteI think your bike looks really good! The only time I tried to paint a bike was in grade school - I bought my bike at a garage sale for $5. It was purple with the big handlebars and banana seat. One day I thought I'd change it to yellow. Didn't work too well seeing that I used flat wall paint. I had to spend the afternoon scraping it all off and I had some angry parents.
ReplyDeletei think it looks great! Love the basket with flowers, very cute...
ReplyDeleteGreat Job!
Oh i love her... I agree with Mary, she needs a name :)
ReplyDeleteyour bike is lovely...any vintage loving girl would be proud to ride upon her...i love the basket, that is too cute...and your pictures are great!!!

ReplyDeleteVery cute, Andrea! The little basket definitely pulls at this decorating heart.
ReplyDeleteOh, your bike looks wonderful! I saw a couple of bikes last week stored on the third floor of my Dad's barn and asked my husband to get one for me the next time he's there. I already bought the perfect basket. {I think it's just like yours!} I L.O.V.E the top photo! SO inspiring!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I can talk him into getting it as soon as he gets home! :)
Blessings!
How about some ruby red slippers sitting nearby?
