I have always loved windows seats....but none of our homes ever had the right space to build one...until now.
But...seems how the window seat was lookin' a bit lonely...we thought we'd add some built-in bookshelves to the mix. I can't wait for this project to be finished...I'm gonna fill those shelves with ironstone and baskets galore....I'll keep you updated on the progress. And now for a red sofa update....
I have now finished the loose cushion covers {13 broken needles later}.....11 in all...
now onto the couch slipcover....yikes.

Oh. My. Goodness. This is EXACTLY what I've been wanting to do in my dining room. We rent, so I'm still working on that, because I want it to be sturdy, but don't want it to be permanent. Can I come live with you? I PROMISE to help with the chickens. (I can't have those either, right now.)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing!

I am sure it will be grand!
Tip: when sewing home dec projects (heavy fabrics, multiple layers, and trims together) use a higher needle size 16 or denim needle their much less likely to break easily.

ReplyDeleteLove, Sherry
WOW! I can't believe the projects that you undertake! Amazing! I can't wait to see what your window seat/shelves look like when they're finished. It sure seems the plans are really fun!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your couch! You've been working hard!
This is going to be the BEST. I am impressed that you are doing it yourself. We are undertaking a similar project, turning a parlor into a library. I did the same project in a previous house and I KNOW it sold the house. When I bought the house, I went through my file of pictures and ALL of them had wallsof booksehlves- I knew I had to have them. So, the same contractor is going to do a repeat in this house...and maybe add a Murphy bed.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your blog!
It's going to be beautiful! I can't wait to see it all finished and decorated!

Adrienne
Oh, I'd love to have a wall of bookshelves and a window seat to curl up to read in!!
