Here's a little peek into what I've been doing this week....
I know many of you love pink...and think I'm nuts to paint over a pink tub...but it really is an awful shade of 80's pink.....YUCK!
and a gorgeous shade of gray (Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore)....
I painted our cast iron tub...
and I absolutely love it!
Now....
My home re-do checklist is as follows:
little buddy's room....check
my man-boy's room (my 13-year old son)....check
top story bathroom...almost check
be back soon with the the finished bathroom.
Have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo, Andrea

well, i DO love pink...but i have to agree with you, that shade was a little too pepto bismol...gray is much nicer!!!
ReplyDeleteSWEET! We also had a pink tub! Having it refinished in white was one of the FIRST things we did when we bought this house!!
ReplyDeleteThe previous owners had used that beautiful, giant tub as a..... KITTY BOX! Yes, they had cat litter in it ... UGH...
Great job!!
Ruth
I love that shade of gray and since my old cast iron tub is in dire need of a coat of paint..in fact the entire bathroom needs a re-do.....I think I share consider this color for mine! Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Laura
I am a huge pink lover myself, but there are some shades you shouldn't have to live with! And gray goes with anything, plus it seems to be a much more calming bath color.
ReplyDeleteAndrea I can't wait to see the after pictures, we have a gorgeous ball and claw tub that is sitting out back covered... just waiting to get bought into the house and it needs to be repainted :) looking so forward to your inspriation..Rose
ReplyDeleteLove it...can't wait for the finished product.
ReplyDeleteStop by my blog...I left you an award in appreciation for all your inspiration.
Janet
Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest. :) By the way, I'm eying those handmade french soaps you have on your sidebar! I think I want to add them to my wish list...
ReplyDeleteIt would be a sin NOT to paint over it. Cant wait to see the final result!
ReplyDeleteAndrea,
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous, I have been wanting a clawfoot tub FOREVER! The gray looks amazing. I can't wait to see the finished bath.
Best wishes,
Tammy

ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
such a lovely blog
ReplyDeleteso glad i found ya!
:)
we tried painting our pink bath too, it was the only thing dating the bathroom. But we had to paint it inside, not outside and eventually the paint I put on, came off. It was special paint that wasn't supposed to, but maybe i did something not quite right!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely bath tub and even though I really like the pink, I understand that it might look nicer in a shade of gray. Have a nice week!
