Limbo

We're livin' in limbo over here.

So here's the story....We put our 1890 farmhouse {above} on the market 3 months ago because we decided that we wanted something more rural with more land {our farm population keeps growing} and we're still here. Now being from California, all the homes we sold over there were never on the market more than a couple weeks {although that's not the case now}...but here in Nebraska...things move a bit slower. Our realtor had said that acreages take longer because these are for specific buyer's...and the fact that it's a farmhouse doesn't always appeal to everybody...WHAT! Some people don't like farmhouses!

What makes it worse, is that we've found the perfect acreage for us...it's rural, a newer home {built in 1900} has lots of outbuildings and a big ol' barn. We have lots of plans for the new farmstead...and are just itching to be there.

I know...I know...patience...good things come to those who wait. So...we're just waiting until the right person comes....

Hello....right person...could you come a little faster....thanks!

xoxo Andrea

  5. Hi Andrea,

I know how you feel, and everytime I consider selling our house I think of the same thing -- having an old home narrows the buyer range. But yours looks totally perfect and like it would be a dream to live in!
You want MORE land, huh? Wow... how nice for you! Me -- I'm itching for loft/condo life! :)

When your home sells, it will be at just the right moment.

    Take care!

  13. Oh,my! If only I was in a place in life where I could pick up and move anywhere I wanted. I love that kind of house - reminds me of my childhood, and growing up in farm country.

If I could, I'd snap that house right up... If only I could...

    Good luck with it,

    Kate

  14. Andrea, I love your house, If I could I would take it off your hands in a heartbeat :) As you know, I am in So. Cal and you know what? I live in a 1916 farmhouse! :) Course the realtor called it a "custom cottage" (more Cali like I guess lol) trust me it is a farm house, I love it with all its creaks, late night noises and all the "projects" that seem never ending, the porch spanning the whole front of the house makes it worth it :) We have a 16,000 sq ft lot and are over whelmed, I can't imagine having alot of land like you want :) Although it does sound beautiful for the new house. As beautiful as the one you have now is, I hope you get the new one that you so want and show us all pictures of that beautiful "new" house. Rose

  17. Hi Andrea, I can't believe everyone doesn't want a farmhouse???

Loved your last post about ordinary objects, the tote you covered ruffles is inspiring, I am so into rows of white ruffles right now, I just can't get enough...

    Have a great week!

    Best wishes,
