Got Any Ideas...And A Giveaway

My wonderful friend Sue found these gorgeous frames and saved them just for me! Does she know what I like or what! They have beautiful old pink velvet in the center and the frames have the loveliest details.

So, I was thinking whatever I do with these frames, has to be really special. I have thought to make one into a 3D collage of vintage wedding items, but I'm not sure. This is where you come in...I wanted to ask all the wonderfully creative and talented bloggers out there...what would you do?

As I was perusing Martha's website, I came across some wonderful Thanksgiving ideas and Thanksgiving menus...take a look...

I love how this centerpiece looks. The different shades of creamy white are so peaceful...the perfect sentiment for Thanksgiving.

Aren't these squirrel favor log too cute! Wouldn't these look adorable at the children's table...or even an adults table. They have them filled with foil wrapped chocolate nuts...YUM.

I just love the simplicity of this pear place card.

Silver Bella - Part Duex

Here are the last photos I have of Silver Bella. I wished I could've taken a ton more, but there were SO many people at all the booths, I was lucky I was able to take these few.

Don't ya just love all the silver in this picture...I'm a sucker for mercury glass and all things shiny and silver. This was a small vignette at Curious Sofas booth...LOVED it!

Silver Bella Vignettes

This morning I woke up and fed the goats...

fed the chickens...

fed the ducks...

as fast as I could (in 27 degreee weather mind you) so I could rush back in (my heated home) to post some pictures from the Silver Bella Vendor Faire.

The photo above is of Heather's table. It was so nice to meet her...she's just as sweet and lovely as can be.

See the picture above...with the vintage baby bonnets...that's Gwen's booth...loved it! Her booth was absolutely filled with the most beautiful french items. Gwen was such a doll too...I loved meeting to her.

This sweet picture is of Karla's wonderful booth. She had beautiful jewelry, wallpaper and just plain great stuff. She was so cute and full of life...a true gem.

These last two pictures were of Carol's spot. Oh...I can't tell you how much I loved her booth. She truly is a girl after my own heart. Carol has such a wonderful eye for arranging displays and finding the beauty in old shabby items. She was a doll and I'm so happy to have met her.

See the little old doll right there...that one came home with me as did the mercury bottle.

For The Love of Burlap

I finally had some time to get these great sacks in the shop. I absolutely love'em! I've been going around the house and re-covering chairs, wrapping presents, making stockings, dog beds...well... as you can see I've found lots of ways to use these.

These are authentic burlap coffee sacks that have a real french feel to them. If you love old french grain sacks, like me, then you'll love these too. Real french sacks can be quite expensive, and because of that, the one's I have, I have never had the heart to cut up to cover chairs...I just have them stacked on a cupboard.

But, these you'll love cutting up...I did.

So, one of the things I did with the sacks is wrap a sweet present.

I just added some ribbon, millinery and a glitter tag and...viola!


Then, I re-covered my dinning room chairs...love'em!

I am also in the process of making Christmas stockings with these too (photos to come in another post). These are also perfect to make porch pillows and dog beds and on and on and on. Did I already mention that I love these :o)

And tonight I'm off to the Silver Bella Marketplace Faire. I'm soooo looking forward to seeing all the beautiful booths and meeting all the wonderful women that I read about on blogs. This is my first time going to this event....but I'm sure it won't be my last.

Silver Bella...Here I Come!

Well, I just received my ticket to attend the Silver Bella Marketplace Vendor Faire....and I'm sooo excited. I wasn't planning on going, but it seems they had a few more tickets available to attend the vendor faire, and I got one. WHOOOHOOO! I'm looking forward to seeing the lovely booths all set up, it should look amazing. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share with all of you.

When I woke this morning, I started thinking about my blog...and realized, I've been blogging for a whole 6 months now...so I thought to myself...hmmm...let's have a giveaway. It's just my small way of saying thank you, for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful community.

A Paper Doll

My wonderful friend Kris recently sent me some beautiful prints that she made from a 1904 french Les Modes magazine. They were so pretty that I really didn't want to cut them up, but I remember seeing in one of the Somerset Life magazines that an artist made the cutest paper dolls...so I thought I'd give it a try.

And here she is....

I think it turned out pretty cute...being it's my first time. It was fun to try and figure out were to add the details so she would seem more 3D.

A bit of tulle, glitter and millinery was all she really needed.
